Located in the heart of the Coffs Coast, the city of Coffs Harbour is the largest centre in the region.
A regional centre for tourism, commerce and industry, Coffs Harbour boasts all the benefits of a thriving city, including award-winning restaurants, entertainment venues and first-class health and educational facilities.

In 2002 Coffs Harbour received the Nations in Bloom Award as the Most Liveable City in the World for its size.

The city has been assessed by the CSIRO as having the best climate in Australia and the maximum temperatures rarely fall below 19 degrees Celsius, even in winter, when the days are bright and clear.

The Coffs Coast is notable for its banana and avocado plantations, dairy and beef farms, State Forests and National parks, sup-tropical rainforests, pristine beaches and the diverse aquatic environment of the Solitary Islands Marine Park.

Accommodation is plentiful in every range, from the world-class resorts dotted along the sparkling coastline to the motels, cosy bed and breakfast establishments, lodges, cabins, backpacker resorts, wilderness camping grounds and caravan parks which provide on-site cabins and facilities for caravans and campers.

Coffs Harbour and district

West of Coffs Harbour is the uncrowded rural hinterland of the Orara Valley, flanked by the hills of the Eastern Dorrigo, with their scenic valleys, forests, winding roads and charming villages.

North of Coffs Harbour are a string of northern beach communities, including Woolgoolga, whose large Sikh population lend this seaside town an exotic flavour.

South of Coffs Harbour are the seaside towns of North Beach, Repton and Urunga and then the seaside and river town communities of the Nambucca Valley.

South West of Coffs Harbour is the beautiful Bellinger Valley, with the towns of Raleigh and Bellingen, while a steep climb to the head of the valley takes visitors up the mountain on the Waterfall Way to the Dorrigo Plateau.
